Paul Rasporich was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1965. He has been a professional artist since 1989. Paul’s work is primarily figurative, and his primary medium is oil on panel, although he also works in pastels, etchings, and bronze sculpture. Paul earned a diploma in Visual Communications from the Alberta College of Art in 1986, a BFA in 2000, and a BEd from the University of Calgary in 2002. Having had numerous exhibitions, his work is represented in many private, corporate and public collections in both Canada and the USA. Awards include Trout Unlimited Canada’s Artist of the Year 2000 as well as Best New Artist of 2002 at the Calgary Stampede’s Western Art Auction. Paul was recently considered to paint Queen Elizabeth to mark her Diamond Jubilee and has also been shortlisted to paint many of Canada’s former Prime Ministers.
